Meet our Kindergarten - 2nd Grade Teacher

Becky Dyrssen

Educational background: Bachelors Degree, Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN, 15 years teaching experience

Starting Date at BSELS: July 1989

Philosophy of teaching at BSELS:  Even the early years of a child’s education can help prepare the student for future academic success. I believe a well-structured classroom in a loving Christian environment promotes the social, spiritual, and academic training that a child needs already in kindergarten and first grade.

Meet our 3rd - 5th Grade Teacher

Elizabeth Glodowski

Educational Background: Bachelors Degree, Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minnesota.

Starting Date at BSELS: July 2007.

Philosophy of teaching at BSELS:  The early years in a child’s life are very important. It is the time when the basics are learned. These beginning years are the years that the students start to put the building blocks together. Teaching second and third graders is such a blessing. I want my students to grow academically and socially. It is important for them learn to use the abilities God has given them. This is made very easy because everything we do is rooted in God’s Word. We find joy growing together not only academically and socially, but also in God’s Family.

Meet our Principal and 6th - 8th Grade Teacher

George Hella

Educational Background:  Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, 2006, Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minnesota.

Starting Date at BSELS:  July 2009

Philosophy of Teaching at BSELS: The Center of Education in our classroom is Christ. All learning revolves around knowing Him better. I also like to keep in close touch with parents and I’m open to questions and comments about our classroom. I try to nurture a learning environment in my presentations and in our classroom atmosphere. I think that constructive learning comes from group work as well as the individual’s discoveries as they solve problems. I believe that educating a child is a joint venture between child, parents and teacher so I look forward to being part of the learning team.
